Originally from South Florida, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Sciences in 1999 from Valdosta State University. I then taught English in Vietnam for a year before returning to the states to complete my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. Providing speech and language therapy in pre-k, elementary, middle, and high schools in South Florida from 2001 to 2006 gave me the opportunity to work with students with a variety of speech and language needs. My family then moved to Thailand in 2007, where I had the opportunity to work with children in a multicultural context. In 2016, I worked again as a speech pathologist in a public school district in Florida until my family moved to Madison, WI in 2019. I had the opportunity to teach in several fun part-time jobs until I joined the speech team here at Deerfield in August 2023! I enjoy hiking, swimming, spending time with my husband and two daughters, music, painting, sports, gardening, and theater. I'm excited to be able to work with the wonderful students here in Deerfield!
