EAP
Financial woes. Legal advice needed. Daycare crisis. Aging parents. Mental health issues. There's a lot of concerns that can weigh on you while you're at work. The Employee Assistance Program can provide information, tools, and support services including legal and financial advice, health coaching, child or elder care support, professional counseling, workplace challenges, stress and mental health issues, family and relationships, and more. Help is available 24/7 at your fingertips. While issues may concern family members, all contacts to the EAP must be made by the employee. The District is not notified if the employee chooses to use the EAP. And conversations with the therapists are completely confidential.
EAP services are available two ways: call toll-free: 866.472.2734, or online: www.niseap.com - password EAP

Crisis Text Line
Mental health crisis support is available with the Crisis Text Line. An individual looking for immediate support and engagement would text "HOME' to 741741 to engage with a professionally trained counselor. This is a free service that we are promoting because it is especially helpful when someone is having a mental health crisis and is not close to a hospital, ER, Urgent Care facility, etc. The Crisis Text Line is NOT meant to replace health insurance, but to complement it and, in a way, act as a bridge until a situation becomes more stabilized.
Following are the main areas that the Crisis Text Line may help: relationship issues, depression/sadness, isolation/loneliness, self-harm, abuse (emotional, sexual, physical), eating body image, bullying, grief, substance abuse, gender/sexual identity.
Again, this is not to replace health insurance, but to be an option, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for anyone who needs support.
